Gotta Requalify just ring Air NZ and ask for the seat numbers presently sitting in the reservation? If the answer, from the live system, is 3AB 4AB then the next step should be a thank-you and hang up, not a request to un-assign those seats ...
A quick refresher course on airline IT: don't expect it to work properly.
If the seats are open on the seat map and someone puts in a request it will KK them, and bump you out - but won't change the seat request showing.
