Yes, they should have converted the TWA miles to AA miles. You will need to call AAdvantage and explain the situation. Presumably, they will look up the account and see if there are any unexpired miles left in the account. If so, there is a form to fill out, send in with a copy of the death certificate, and a fee. You will have to decide whether the number of miles left is worth paying the fee.
