Well am glad someone has started a thread about travel in India. My 11 year old daughter has just been asked to take part in the 2009 Commonwealth Karate championships in Chennai, India (this year is was in Edinburgh so only 1hr drive away...). Still somethings to sort out before the final announcements (security is one of the main ones I believe).

Lucky for me that BA fly there so thats a big plus as far as am concerned but the problem is that the event is right at the end of June so thats the start of the Scottish school holidays and the time we normally fly off somewhere for nearly 3 weeks of doing the tourist thing.

So BA CW out, thats the easy bit but what to do after the event? I just dont have a clue apart from maybe flying from Chennai over to Dubai then back to the UK. Ok I know Dubai will be hot as hell in July but I also know that we just have to stay in nice air con places, then again with two females going its mostly about shopping..

So any other ideas from folk now that my North West USA trip has to be binned for 2009 (there was I looking forward to pushing my USA states total up by another few....)
