Thanks Margarita girl for the advice, I checked a few US destinations, but they still seemed higher than YHZ-YYC. I did see a FLL and Tampa that was fairly cheap..

When Customs ask how long I'm staying in the USA, and ask for my address while there, What would I say? I'm only there for the day, to get miles? I wonder what they'd say.
