IMO Obento is miles ahead of that steak - in whatever incarnation they serve it - I think another FTer said that the meat is flown in from the US - hence worst steaks are loaded ex NRT.

Biggest problem for obento is that its short on appetizers and lacks a hot, clear broth soup (o-wan), not to mention that the dessert is pathetic (not that traditional Japanese desserts are that great in the first place, IMO).

I would suggest trying SQ's Kyo-kaiseki (soemthing like the obento at the end of the day, although kaiseki is a bit more fancy - a full course dinner) meal they have catered in F ex-NRT and ex-SIN. It is quite excellent, and puts UA's obento in C/F to shame.
