The return of the sizing box will make it easier to explain to the customer that their bag is too big and must be checked. It's difficult to argue the point when your bag doesn't fit inside the box.
My 20" bag fits into every CO mainline overhead bin. It is well within even the new guidelines, yet it fits none of the existing (old?) sizers, which only allow very narrow bags. Once on-board, the bag either fits or it doesn't. I hope that if CO really is going to buy new sizers that they are the same size as that of the overhead bins.
