That is a lot of points to spend on that room, IMO. And $90, that was the rate when the hotel first opened in 2003 (for the premier studio room, which is generally the upgrade you'd get now if you booked in the old tower)
I agree that it's a lot to spend on that room and if I thought that that would be the room I actually got I'd be staying elsewhere, no question about it.

But I'm hopeful that as a Plat I'll get a better room in addition to lounge access.

I guess we'll see!
