You can miss Independence Air as much as you want, but that won't change the fact they they had a business model doomed for failure by flooding the market with seats where supply far outweighed existing demand. Perhaps if they had not offered so many seats and flights at such a low price, they would still be a viable carrier putting pressure on UA at IAD to keep fares lower, but they were reckless and shortsighted. Oh well!
