I just spoke with a UA rep in Sydney at their offices, who told me only UA Prem Ex, UA 1K's can reserve exit row seats on UA. Is this correct? Are *G's allowed to reserve a seat in advance of the flight in the exit row?

Keen for any tips or advice on this as it will be a very long flight for me in economy on a UA744! Any recommendations on where to sit otherwise? The passenger flying with me has zero status.
