SFO-LHR, are they offering UG's for $$$?

Have heard that upgrades are being offered for additional $$$ at the gate on some flights. Anyone know if this is being done out of SFO for LHR flights.....

Am leaving on Wed night....would love to sleep in business class! If not I guess I'll have to be happy in Row 17.

Or I could pray for a miracle Ops Upgrade...
