chchiwi I started going gray early, at the age of 10 for me. Genetics. Of course this really helped in my teens to make me look a lot older than I was

which, at the time was a good thing. My gray never bothered me until it started making me look a LOT older than I did. I was about 36 at the time and since I was almost entirely gray by that point, it was time to hit the bottle. At first I went to a salon and I really never found one that I liked. I figured I could do it better at home and I did. I started out with black hair as a child, but discovered that the white halo (as I called the roots) showed up within the first 3 days. Then I started going into lighter and lighter browns and it wasn't so noticeable. One summer in Hawaii I had blonde highlights put in my hair and loved it. Then I had them done again in the City and not only was it a poor job, it was 4 times as expensive. Again, I went the home route and have been entirely blonde for the past 8 years or so. In fact, people who have known me thruogh all the transitions can't remember me with dark hair, or gray hair for that matter. I use Feria and the only problem I have is that they discontinued my number so now I am a slightly different shade with a new number.
