I think AA would be glad to status match based your feedback of 200k/year.

If YVR is your gateway, I would also suggest SQ's PPS which is offered at SGD25k/year or their Elite Gold status.

You should get feedback from the status match forum.

Based on the above, looks like you had a bad experience even being a SE. Was this a one-off situation you think or has it occured a few times?
