Do not purchase the duty-free liquids in HKG. They will be confiscated upon boarding the flight to Australia. There is a final liquids search of carry-on bags (manual search) inside the aerobridge before being allowed on board.
Does this affect all flights, or only those to Australia?
I last flew from HKG to Germany this February and don't recall any search (and could keep all duty free purchases).
