As much as exploring the Blue Mountains or going for a drive to the vineyards in the Hunter Valley is just fantastic, Sydney traffic can put paid to valuable time. I agree that 4-5 days in the city and immediate suburbs, beaches, etc. should definitely keep you occupied.
