Star Alliance Lounge Heathrow is disappointing.

In July, I crossed on the Queen Mary2 as she was headed from NYC to Hamburg via Southampton, planning to take it back in 4 days. I got off in Southampton and headed to Heathrow to fly to Edinburgh. I was booked Business on BD. I was looking forward to seeing the new Star Alliance lounge at terminal 1.

It was truly disappointing. No Air Conditioning except in the restrooms, bland walls, no pictures or posters, cheap furniture. The UA Red Carpet clubs even at the smaller out of the way spots like DFW and ATL are more comfortable and welcoming.

Tomorrow 16th I am headed to LHR in First with my brother to celebrate his 6oth in London. I printed out my boarding passes and got invitations to the arrivals lounge, but cannot find any information as to its location. Not on the Heathrow terminal maps or the UAL website (the location shown is the former terminal 3 arrivals Hall mezzinine).

Returning on the 22nd, I will have a chance to check out the First Class Departures Lounge. I am hoping for the best, but not expecting much. I will report.
