So much depends on the airport and the aircraft. When BA used to use 767's regularly at FRA then there was an airbridge at door 1 and one at door 2, with a crew member at the point where the two jetties split, pointing boarding PAX down the right jetty.

At MAD T4 where BA use 757s I have been told that when it lands the jetty is supposed to go to door 1 to let the CE PAX off first and then it is supposed to be moved to door 2 so that boarding CE PAX can turn left and not get held up (however this is Spain!).

At LHR T4 they had two checkin lines but only one jetty.

At YVR they called F and Golds forward and were pretty rigorous in policing that.

So depends where you are and if the airport staff can be arsed!
