Still connected and plugging away. Have not been on this long since the upgrade.

I'm really hoping that this is it. I spent WAY too many hours installing/uninstalling things without luck.

I kind of thought I would lose sound or something but once I deleted them and rebooted I'm having no problems at all with sound. I guess I'm not even sure what the drivers did/do.

edited to add that the volume icon in the task tray is gone.
