Home Print Boarding Pass - Name Matching
CX will roll out home print boarding pass facility to CX on-line check-in
in November 2008. Passenger can print his/her boarding pass at home
and pass through CIQ at airport without contacting CX check-in counter.
To ensure the smooth process for the passenger, at the time of making
the booking, please ensure that the name in booking must be exactly the
same as on travel document.
KA used to do this as well but requires the pax to stop by their counter at the airport to verify identity - negating the benefits of not having to stop by the airline counter. I think this latest home-printing BP feature by CX is actually made possible with this other "improvement" at the HKIA mentioned on CX.com, so now the identity-checking role is performed by the airport instead and so no need to stop by the airline counter ?
Travel document check at Hong Kong International Airport
For immigration and security purpose, starting from 3 November 2008, passengers departing from Hong Kong International Airport should take note that there will be a travel document check at entry into the departure immigration halls to ensure that passenger’s name printed on boarding pass is, in full, the same as printed on passport.
Should you require assistance at the airport, please proceed to our check-in counters.
