The one nice thing about AA's is that you have to tell it your AAdvantage number up front, and the thing routes you to the appropriate desk, EXP, Plat, Gold.

I hope UA adopts that part of it. Just like people boarding when they aren't supposed to, I'll bet the 1K desk serves a lot of people that aren't 1K. Obviously it isn't an issue till you have to wait, but as EXP on AA I never had to wait, whereas UA I indeed have a number of times.
