We flew there last week using SWU. Of course looking at my account today I see the friendly agent at IAD ALSO took 4 x 500 milers each without mentioning it.

So yes, 500 milers even are OK.

GO for the upgrade. Best airbus flight we have EVER have, FRENCH Champagne in various brands etc. AMAZING!! On both the ORD and IAD flights too.
