Bus took 5 mins to arrive-no problem. We then boarded the bus and we sat there for 15 minutes. On my tight 42 minute connection, every minute is precious. After this time, our driver (non-english speaking) mumbled something and then shut the door and moved on. We proceeded at a 5MPH pace getting cut off by baggage carts and construction vehicles....It took another 10 minutes just to traverse the pathway from C to A. 25 minutes it took to do what should be a 5-10 minute run. I was the last on board (luckily) my RJ flight to CHS (the last of the night so you can imagine i would have been livid had i missed it because of something within CO's control) and the door shut right behind me. I was pissed.....i slept it off and jaunted back to the airport on 10/5 for a flight back to CMH via EWR. All was fine and we arrived at what is now the cursed Gate 31. We landed on time and CO held every single soul of a packed plane until the 4 people standing around unloaded all of the gate checked bags (10 mins)....what were supposed to be shuttle buses to C and A were not waiting upon our arrival and showed up 5 minutes later. We then proceeded to wait another 15 minutes (long after everyone was off including the crew) for what seemed no apparent reason....we arrived 33 minutes after landing...luckily i had an hour connection this time so I did not sweat but after being trapped on a small tube for an hour and 30 mins, you can imagine that one would like to see more space than a bus or a RJ.

Long story short, has this mess happened to anyone else? I think I am resigned to the fact that I am just gonna walk out and take the airtran and re-clear security because this nonsense is ridiculous. Schedules on CO from CHS are scarce and I go out of my way to book CO now as most of the other carriers have failed me in some way shape or form and CO hasn't. But if this 30-35 min transit between terminals is going to be the norm, i'm just gonna book away from CO now too. EWR sucks as it is and this just makes it worse.

I hope CO will at least find another way to get pax to C besides using the construction path. I have seen plenty of vehicles go around the American terminal and cut across behind the US planes before and I would think with all that construction going on, CO would be proactive and do this with the transit buses.

My apologies if this is all convoluted but this really has boiled my blodd and I am hoping that others have experienced this and would effect some sort of change by CO.

Thanks for listening.
USFreak, as a crewmember for Continental, I find the EWR A-C transportation (as well as some of the employees) as ridiculous as you do. Fortunately, taking the AirTrain was never a big deal for me because I always had priority through security (VideoPaul, bite your tounge!), but it is absolutely unacceptable that we cannot give our customers a reliable quick and efficient way from one point to another like they find at our other hubs. I unfortunately cannot offer any solution or advice to you, but I can at least offer you my sympathy and empathy and my hope, joined with yours, that something can be done to correct this issue.
