This is going to sound crazy, but I flew return on my Aeroplan miles from Fukuoka, Japan to HCMC, Vietnam. I had to change planes and airlines in Shanghai.
On the way back, I don't know how....but I managed to lose my eticket halfway between HCMC and Shanghai. I had it and used it for this first leg from HCMC to Shanghai, but when I went to check in, I couldn't find any of my paperwork related to the return flight. I had been booked on Shanghai Air and had to pay full price for a new ticket from there to Fukuoka, so that I could get on the next plane. I never did find the lost eticket! I imagine it ended up on the floor of the first plane.
No one at the Shanghai desk could/would help me. Said there was no record of me in their computer. In retrospect, should I have called Aeroplan from Shanghai? (I didn't...I was so rattled about losing my ticket.)
Since I did not use the ticket for the last leg of the trip from Shanghai to Fukuoka, should I try to get any of the miles for that recredited to my Aeroplan account, or am I...SOL??
Any advice would be appreciated! (Other than to be more careful with important documents!)
