Spooky, I went there for dinner today for the first time. You have to admit it's better than its forerunner, Maccy D's.

I almost always agree with Winner's reveiews, despite him being a national irritant. But on this occasion I am going to disagree, well to some extent anyway. I thought the food was OK, but found the front of house was rather standoffish. In all, not bad.

The only reason I've not been before was after comments from a friend of mine (maitre d' of a 2 M* establishment) a day or two after it opened.

An alternative, and somewhat closer to Paddington and the Hilton (five minute walk), is Angelus, perhaps interestingly also a haunt of Stuart Rose, boss of M&S, no less. The foie gras creme brulee is, as Winner would say, historic.
