As I understand it -- per SQ -- if you were to check in with SQ at some point other than Changi (for example, you're coming from LHR or SYD, and connecting on to KL), you'd get an SQ BP at your originating station, with the SQ flight number on it -- regardless whether the metal was SQ, MH or MI. Then, you could use the business side of the SKL at Changi T-2.
But I completely agree with MAN Flyer's comments about the relative quality of the various lounges at both airports, so perhaps the SKL at T-2 isn't such a big deal any longer.
