I'm curious about iDine miles earning opportunites for large catered events. I did an FT search and found nothing posted.
On the
iDine website it says:
iDine rewards are not available when used with other dining programs such as coupons, discount cards, restaurant promotions or planned events such as large business functions, parties and/or any situation where a special pricing arrangement has been negotiated directly with the restaurant. Your benefit may be reversed if you do not have prior consent from the restaurant to receive your iDine benefit in addition to your negotiated deal. You may contact Member Services for assistance with future plans for large functions.
I called Member Services, and the person I talked to said that some restaraunts specifically excluded catering, but most don't. She also pointed out, though, that most put a $600 (or, occasionally $1000)monthly cap per person on their spending, so that at most places I'd be limited to only 6,000 miles.
Has anyone any experience with catering large functions?
