Well, that's my concern is that UA might not be might fine. My last UA c-class flights DEN>LHR abd AMS>ORD>DEN had problems with the seats. 2 footrests wouldn't stay up. One monitor would flop over. One seat had no audio. Food was sketchy. (Anyone had the Charlie Trotter bacon wrapped beef? Couldn't even cut through it.) And that's on the 777. I'm imagining things are worse on the 747's aren't they? At least SQ has large screens at each seat even in coach.
Oh, come now. As bad as UA C is compared to the C of the vast majority of its competitors, it's head and shoulders above any Y. Just the fact that you can recline your seat and sleep. Food and IFE? Those seem secondary, frankly, when you're on flights that last hours and hours. Unless you want to pull some sort of all nighter watching IFE, I just can't see how this isn't a no-brainer.
