I am no mod but I see what
SanDiego1K sees. When logged in, I can see all 5 tabs under both profiles of
SanDiego1K &
jbfield.
However, if not signed in, the profile tabs are different:
Two tabs under
jbfield: "About Me" & "Statistics"
Four tabs under
SanDiego1K: "Visitor Messages", "About Me", "Statistics" & "Friends" (i.e. no "Contact Me")
I may be wrong but I don't think the difference in profile tabs has nothing to do with being a mod or not:
1. I think the "Contact Me" tab is masked from all visitors (or not-signed-in FTers).
2. If no one leaves you a "visitor message", the "Visitor Messages" get masked upon logout.
3. If you don't join or make friends/social groups, the "Friends" tab is masked upon logout.
Well, that's my "theory" and I confirm it with my own profile.
The bottom line is, logged in or not, every one gets to see the "About Me" tab under the public profile.
