Harrahs has added (a
non-gambling) method of earning base points in their system, for every $5 spent in one of their casinos, you earn one base point--which counts for tier status: seven stars, diamond etc.
I was pondering over the following scenario: a large company is holding a convention, say 500 employees, for 3 days at $100/night = $150,000, equivalent to 30,000 base points, which the ceo would have credited to his account, and become diamond without doing any gambling.

I'd be willing to bet (haha) that Hotel Sales has language preventing this in the convention contracts. Come to think of it, I know the VP Convention Sales for Atlantic City - I'll call his office first chance I get.
