Actually, I was sitting at 44K with around 7K scheduled, so I didn't bother registering for anything. I simply assumed that I'd make 1P the normal way, but was way too far off making 1K to even bother with the extra status mile promotions this year (looking back, sure wish I had!)

Well, how situations change. I'm sitting at around 49400 with a 24,400 mile trip ahead of me. With double status miles, that'll leave me about 800+ shy.

Oh, it's a no-brainer to me, too. I'd just prefer to do it without spending any more time on planes or spending any more money, if I can help it. Since UA was handing out status miles like candy earlier this year, I thought that I might still have a chance to pick up some freebies.

Bloody BD! They only give 250 miles per segment in Europe, regardless of distance. So a nice little round-trip to Nice would yield me 500 status miles. Despite 1450 flown miles. Grrrrr.

I may grab a cheapie LHR-FRA ticket later in the year.
