I am not optimistic despite the fact that all other majors have retained bonus miles for elites.

I calculated the difference sticking with US vs. changing to NW will make with my unbooked 2009 travel. NW gives 125% bonus miles to Platinum elites and still has 500 mile segment minimum (until merger at least).

US EQMs=23982, FF miles=23982
NW EQM=31797, FF miles = 72302

Pretty hard to wait and hope. I'll be Platinum through 2/2010 so if they did change their policy I'd probably switch back to US. They are still are the most convenient out of PIT.
