Nope, AC power as well. When I see passengers using a notebook, I point the power outlet out to them. Most then connect their machine to it, but I'm never quite sure whether they're doing it just to be polite or if they really need the power but weren't aware that it was available.

Unless you know exactly where the outlet is, you kind of need to get out of your seat to get at it. In Y it's centered between seats A-C and D-F below the seat cushions. In J it's in the same spot between seats D-F and on one side below the seat cushion in A seats.
