Here's another question. The flight cancellation was caused by mechanical problems. I argued to get on the Continental flight but have now been told they only have middle seats available for an overseas 10 hour flight!
Is there any chance Air Canada would upgrade me to Continental's business class b/c of this whole situation? after all, it was their fault?!
Consider yourself lucky that they put you on the CO flight! I would think the chance is 0%. Even if the CO flight is overbooked, they'd op-up their own elite members first.
