I think I had about 4 things declared when last entering NZ:
* Food (Candy)
* Animal Product (I think Chocolate, can't remember)
* Had been in a forest in previous 30 days
* Goods over NZ$700 (laptop + camera, but both were leaving the country with me)

For the food question I wrote the word candy beside it, for the 700 I wrote laptop. The officer remarked that he doesn't usally see so many Yes answers but was still though in a few seconds as it was clear I had nothing to hide.

Same in Sydney a few times, ticked to a couple of items yes and still out the door very quickly.
