Isn't buy on board snack the same price as a drink?

It has been raised here many times before. I can't see why a FA would care as the books would balance either way. correct?

If they sell 20 of each on a flight - 20 drinks and 20 meals there needs to be 40 x $6 or whatever in the bank .... or 20 x $6 and 20 chits. Etc.

Who at WHQ will have a clue about the origin or receipt of the chits as long as there are some?
