Forgive me if this is in another thread...

I am currently staying at a Sheraton property in NYC on a 3 night business trip.

After the first night, I placed the do not disturb sign on the outside of my door in the morning before going to work (because I was running late and didn't quite tidy the room up a little). When I returned at 7 pm, the door still had the "do not disturb" sign, I've noticed my room was made and my stuff (some on the bed when I left) were placed on the table, the bed made, and the bathroom cleaned.

I called down to guest services and inquired about this and was told:
" Sorry Mr., we only honor the DO NOT DISTURB sign until 1pm. After that time our housekeeping staff goes into your room. If you don't want service, you would need to let us know in advance."

Does this make sense? Do you think this is property specific?
