Dreams failed, they modified the system.

Apparently CI 0005/0006 will get the retrofitted cabin (Dynasty Supreme) first in comparison to CI 0007/0008 since it is now required 40,000 miles to upgrade in January 2009 for CI 0005/0006 flights (award coded UTJ). Maybe they want to play with the customer's mind by putting CI 0005/0006 with the retrofitted cabin first since many passengers may have already booked CI 0007/0008 in expecting the night flight getting the retrofitted cabin first.

I guess I won't be able to experience it since I won't be able to take an afternoon flight unless it's a weekend, and I don't know if I really want to shell out 40,000 miles for couple more inches and maybe a nearly flat bed (waiting for China Man's picture =)). This also hints me that I should book an afternoon flight if I don't want to stay on the plane for 14 hours without a television in January...?

However, when I check Frankfurt's award redemption, it only shows 30,000 miles! I wonder if China Airlines is specifically targeting Los Angeles by making it more expensive to use award redemption... or they are trying to make more customers to go on CI 0005/0006 for the sake of it (and then change the cabin maybe at last minute by returning 10,000 miles?!)? Since... in February... both the flights back from Taipei to Los Angeles does not show Dynasty Supreme. I don't get what China Airlines is trying to do...

Amsterdam, New York and San Francisco are still 30,000 miles, nothing changed. Even though Honolulu is using 340 for the direct flights, it's still 30,000 miles as well. Also, a warning to me would be that there will be no TV in the Economy section for the CI 0007/0008 if 74C still flies to Frankfurt.

Also, they took out some registration numbers with just B-18210 being the 74C configuration.
