Not sure -- but CO did add 819,000,000 to their cash position for Q2-08. My guess is they did this in anticipation of credit becoming tighter/more expensive.

That said, WN made a similar move earlier in the year (or late in 07) where they mortgaged out a few of their planes (which they typically own) to increase their cash position as well.
