I was talking with a friend at Boeing who works on the commercial side and he said that he had also heard such a rumor(or maybe more considering the post from NewarkFlyer).

T7s are not a huge shock as they are fairly economical to operatre and allows the 764s to fly TATL from either IAH or EWR. Many Asian airlines operate T7s in the South Pacific and from a density standpoint, they are a nice fit.
