Netgear gives lousy phone support. Try posting your problem on the Infrant forums. It has all the folks who were with Infrant before Netgear acquired them. They take pride in their product, and they may be able to help get you the support you need. They helped me get a free power supply when mine burned out and the phone support people were useless.
Your data should be OK if you put the drives in a new enclosure in the same position they are in the old enclosure. If you can't get a replacement part from Infrant, perhaps you can find someone who can lend an enclosure to you to recover your data. (sorry, but mine is in pretty heavy use).
Eaegis.com sells them for $795 with 2X500 gig drives and $895 with 2X750 gig drives. Right now they are having a 3 for 2 sale so you would get a third drive for the same price. I have had good service from them in the past.
Thanks for the suggestions. I've posted my issue at the ReadyNAS forums and we'll see what comes of that. In the meantime, after nearly 24 hours of backing up, I'm at 2% or so complete on my Mozy backup. Hope my main drives don't fail between now and Thanksgiving.
