I stayed at the Islandia Marriott for one night this past weekend as I had a Bar Mitzvah in the area and used my Category 5 free night cert that I had received from my being a Marriott Visa card holder, as my cert was expiring in a month and it was a use it or lose it proposition.
That said, as a Gold member, they pre-assigned me a room on the Concierge Floor and although the lounge was closed for the weekend, they provided me with a cert which as good for two people for the Buffet Breakfast Sunday morning -- standard buffet fare which was fine.
Room was recently renovated with a flat screen panel TV and althoug the Marriott down duvet was there, etc., I truly believe that the pillow top matress was absent and instead it was a plain old mattress with perhaps a foam matress pad. Needless to say, I did not sleep all that well that night. The A/C is loud when it comes on in the room -- not a major thing for me as I live in an urban area -- but thought you might like to know.
Finally, did not use the health club facilities so don't know their state, but there was a sign in the business center stating that internet was down for the entire hotel, so you may wish to call them to see if this is a freuqnet problem prior to your stay.
All in all it was satisfactory for my needs and they did honor status, but you should evaluate your other options in the area before settling on this property.
