I know the trend generally is going the other way...more miles for similar flights. and, Cap1's own award program has gotten really bad in recent years. It's too bad. I thought they used to have a good program...and their foreign exchange deal is good. I've racked up a bunch of miles from trips to Euro and now it's getting tougher to get to usable levels.

The improvements you suggest are, indeed, wishful thinking. If such an improvement were to occur, I would greatly increase my use of the card, but I hold no such hope.
I've also collected some miles from European trips. I agree that it is almost impossible to find a $150 flight. But don't forget other redemption options including car rentals and hotels. What I did was redeem my miles on a rental car: 15,000 miles for a $145 rental. Not a bad use for otherwise orphaned miles.
