If you "circled Vegas for an hour" I'd luagh if United sends you an account for an EXTRA $150 over your fare when you write asking for your 500 miles, for "sightseeing fee" as that is what that bunch of small tourist planes there charge to fly over the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam etc.
