You can put in your BD number at the Airport or by calling UA directly since they have a seperate record anyways (non-amadeus).
I have connecting UA flights so I am going to be loading my BD account in that way. It seems like I've got a decent chance of it working, so I'm very hopeful. The 10K points would be quite helpful.
