I do use DB enough to make a 1st or 2nd class BC50 worthwhile but have for some reason been too complacent to get one. Had a seasonal BC25 this Winter during two trips to Germany and it paid itself back in a very short time.
Yes, the Austrians and Swiss do have a superb long distance travel concept. On the EC trains I always try to catch one operated by either alpine rail company.
Also, I don't see much point in having a shower on the train. Just provide it at the destination, either in the lounge or contracted. Unfortunately the payable showers f.ex at Cologne station are currently located inside the public toilet complex. I'd much rather have them attached to the DB lounge.
