I agree with that as well. I never see 1A-1D taken. If I can get someone next to me (companion) I'll take row 1 anyday as the legroom is better. I'm guessing most FF's don't take it as you have to stow your bags up top. I remember the days when some of the 757's had cutouts you could cram a bag into them, but haven't flown those in a few years.

I'm a window hawk, but if I wasn't I'd take 1B/C anyday over any other FC seat.
