It's really up to you. For us Gold Card members... we can easily take our business elsewhere cause we mostly fly Economy Cabin. For Paragon Card members, the First and Business Cabin that China Airlines offer is not higher than any other airlines that also flies out of JFK, so I think it's okay... for you.

JFK doesn't really justify having 74C first as it's only three to four times weekly... and it's in the afternoon departure from Taipei. It would be really hard to rotate aircrafts for the TPE-JFK v.v. route.
