And...the engineer who jury-rigged a battery arrangement that would power his DVD for a long flight? Which list was his home-made device on? As I recall, according to press releases, he was 'happy' to 'surrender' the item because it could be 'perceived' to be a threat?
If the liquids ban gets reduced, will there still be a separate list prohibiting items that might be 'perceived' to be a threat? Opaque containers, unlabelled containers, etc?
I'm still disgusted with the TSA 'tool' who confiscated a six-inch crescent wrench a few years ago because it was a dangerous tool. I was running late, had it for my bike (triathlon), racing back to SFO to catch my flight. Stuffed it in my rucksack and forgot it until I hit the checkpoint. It had sentimental value, my Dad had given it to me decades before.
