Take advantage of the DASH busses downtown. It's a crazy bargain at $0.25 and they have a lot of routes that can take you to great spots all over downtown.

Be sure to take the Red line to Hollywood & Highland where there are a ton of great restaurants, shopping and the usual tourist stops.

Take the Gold Line to Old Town Pasadena, again, great walking area with lots of restaurants.

Chinatown is one of the DASH lines, and great for Dim Sum.
