I think you are greatly overvaluing the cost of the flights at $1300 if you are talking about next spring break. We flew ORD-CDG in spring break of this year and we paid $420. Europe in March equals cheap. You could have gotten tickets to LON a few weeks ago for $223. Granted that was a rather ridiculous fare, but it will never cost near $1300. Maybe it does right now because fares haven't been loaded, but itw ill certainly cost less.
