A passive aggressive response

I agree that it totally depends upon which property you are staying in. What I have noticed recently though is that R-C in the US seems to be dumbing down, especially on the food side of things. In Asia they are still doing some great hotels (as long as we don't mention Bali).

However I also think that there are some awful FS hotels, too, again especially in the N. America. Four Seasons Troon makes my eyes water.

Also, there are some bad FS hotels in Europe - FS Ritz Lisbon comes to mind. Then there are the indifferent FS hotels in Asia - FS Mumbai, for instance.

BUT, overall, I find more passion in FS staff, more willingness to help, and ultimately more consistency worldwide.

R-C I like in Berlin, Marbella, Barcelona, Moscow, Singapore, but not in the US/Mexico these days. Years ago, I thought the just-opened Laguna Niguel was amazing, but things have moved on, and R-C have moved on, too, but, in N. America, not in the right direction, IMHO. I agree about their Club Floors though - a unique benefit.

As for MO, I love some of their hotels - Riviera Maya, Prague, Geneva, Munich and even Miami, but others I don't - San Francisco, Hyde Park London.

One&Only do a superb job at Reethi Rah, Maldives, and at Residence & Spa, Dubai, but le St Geran, Mauritius, with their 35 year old kitchens?

So, I guess what we are all saying is that we cannot rate one particular hotel group over the other, but have a few real favourites amongst certain groups.

I would go along with that in my passive aggressive way
